Accomplished Ad Executive Previously Held Top Roles at Grey, Lowe Roche and BBDO

NEW YORK and TORONTO, March 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — (NASDAQ: MDCA) – MDC Partners Inc. today announced Stephanie Nerlich has been hired as Chief Marketing Officer in Canada, effective in April. She will oversee marketing and business development across all MDC Partners agencies established in Canada and will bring added support to the agencies headquartered in Canada as Managing Director. It is a newly-expanded role designed to maximize growth potential, generate new business momentum and align client needs with respective partner agency core expertise, reporting to Bob Kantor, Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer, and Andre Coste, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

“Stephanie has achieved the highest levels of success in our industry by taking the helm of an esteemed group of agencies and accelerating them to win an enviable list of clients while creating award-winning work,” said Kantor.

“As we look to support the ambitions of our agency partners and clients in Canada, Stephanie’s extensive agency leadership experience and client expertise make her an incredibly valuable addition to our leadership team,” added Coste.

Nerlich joins MDC Partners from Grey Canada, where she was President and CEO for five years. There she led a national network of agencies, expanded Grey Canada’s digital capabilities and drove significant new business growth, including winning Post Foods USA, HSBC North America, Procter & Gamble, Brown Forman, ATCO and Volvo. During her tenure, the agency significantly elevated its creative focus, resulting in 14 Cannes Lions and recognitions at D&AD, The One Show, The Effies, The Cassies and ADCC, where Grey Canada was named “Agency of the Year” twice in three years. She also launched GREY4GOOD, the agency’s social impact specialty.

Prior to joining Grey, Nerlich was President and CEO of Lowe Roche in Toronto, where she oversaw all operational and financial duties. While there, she led a portfolio of premium brands including Audi, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle Purina and Unilever. Previously, Nerlich spent more than a decade at BBDO Canada, rising to the position of Senior Vice President, Executive Managing Director and contributing to the success of leading marketers such as GE, FedEx, Frito-Lay, Mars Inc., PepsiCo and Wrigley. She has also held positions at JWT, The Wolf Group and Fidelity Investments.

“MDC Partners truly stands apart with a unique partnership model and modern approach that have made it an incredibly attractive partner to agencies and clients alike,” said Nerlich. “I’m excited for the opportunity to work with such a talented and diverse group of Canadian agencies to help them take their businesses to the next level.”
